The Expo was developed as a platform for the Bathurst arts community to showcase and promote their work to the local community and visitors alike.
Presented by the Bathurst Arts Council, the inaugural Expo was held 20 to 21 November 2010 at the Bathurst Showground.
Exhibitors were housed in the historical Beau Brown Pavilion with the Art Park presenting performances from local artists on the Performance Stage alongside the Children’s Corner Reading Room and Craft Room. Held in conjunction with the Bathurst’s Biggest Expo, over 4,000 people attended – the Arts Alive 2795 Expo presented an opportunity of en masse exposure of artists work, promotion of organisations and associations or circulation of training and teaching information.

Harris Farm Markets Art Prize
The Harris Farm Markets $5000 acquisition Art Prize is a first for Arts Alive 2795 and Harris Farm Markets. Open to Sculpture, Photography and Artworks that incorporate some form of fruit and vegetables the Art Prize also offered a Harris Farm Markets $250 voucher People’s Choice Award as well as the Little Bathurst Art Gallery $150 Draw Prize from Framing Finesse.

OPTUS Art Trail
The Arts Alive Optus Art Trail opened artist studios, galleries, National Trust properties, museums, and Bathurst city artworks over the November weekend.
Bathurst City Art Trail - Art on the Square A free walking tour of the Bathurst Town Square to view and learn about the many important works of art to be found on the Square. See the oldest oil painting on public display in inland Australia, hear the stories behind ‘Bertie’ Doble’s memorial sculptures and learn about the Square’s links to some of Australia’s most famous 20th century artists. Art and art history – it’s all on the Square! The tours were led by Dr Robin McLachlan, historian, and Pauline Barker, art educator, and are offered by the Bathurst Town Square Committee, as part of their ongoing series of walking tours of the Square.
Screen Stories
Bathurst Arts Council in conjunction with Metro Cinemas screened films by local filmmakers on the big screen. Central West filmmakers, were invited to submit their short films to the inaugural annual film event Screen Stories on Saturday 20 November at Metro Cinemas as part of Arts Alive 2795.
The Arts alive 2795 SCREEN STORIES Audience Choice Award was won by Jacob Fitzgerald with his short film Nightfall. Jacob has been presented with a pass to attend SPAA Fringe 2011 in Sydney and his is currently screening at Metro Cinema before the feature in selected sessions over the next four weeks. Congratulations also go to Jacob for being accepted to study the Foundation Course at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in the new year.
Children’s Writing Prize
The Arts Alive 2795 Children’s Writing Prize asked local children to write a one to two page story set in the past or present, about ANY TOWN WITH A 2795 POSTCODE (there are 96 of them!). Grace Egan, Harry Begg, Martin Rudgley, Sandy McIntosh, Luke Mutton, Ben McCrossin, Brodie Gay, Denzel Fros, Macy Hunter-Knight and Rosie Forsyth all received book prize awards of excellence sponsored by Toni Damieon of the Benjamin Bookworm Club and joint overall winners Will Schoenmaker from Bathurst and Jakiya Whitfeld from O’Connell each received $25 book tokens from Kathryn Bancroft ABC Booksplus for their work Through Evans Eyes and My Home O’Connell.
