Friends of BMEC

"Our Goal...to raise awareness, increase the attendance and enhance the enjoyment for the audience"

The Friends was established in 2001, as a sub committee of the Bathurst Arts Council.

We have held a great variety of events

  • hosting a country luncheon for Russian pianists
  • evenings with the Bell Shakespeare Company
  • co-ordinating the inaugural peformance of the Sydney Balalaika Orchestra's visit to Bathurst
  • pre-performance talks and forums

Pre-performance talks often include live music, guest speakers and there is always a delicious supper and complimentary drink.

When making your reservations for any performance at BMEC, check to see if the Friends are holding a pre-show event for the performance. Please let BMEC know if you wish to attend the pre-show event, to help with catering. Entrance to the pre-show event is by a small fee.

Finanical members of Bathurst Arts Council are automatically Friends of BMEC.

Bathurst Arts Council subcommittee, Friends of BMEC (Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre) plays a vital role in connecting local audiences with world class performers. Friends of BMEC regularly host pre-show talks at BMEC where audience members can hear presentations, meet and mingle performers, directors, designers and many other professionals involved in the production and touring of major performances.
